"Match of the Day - 21 November"

By cy.Reporter, 21 November, 2022

ENGLAND-IRAN, second group, "Kalifa International Stadium", 15:00, RICH

England: They just want to win

England will line up in today's match against Iran with the aim of winning the group and of course winning. The "three lions" want to start with a win in order to lay the foundations early for qualification to the knockout phase. In the competition Southgate will probably line up the team with the familiar 4-2-3-1 system from which Maddison will be absent, as well as Walker.

Iran: Make a surprise

Iran may be considered underdogs against England, but they are perhaps the most in-form team in Asia with just two defeats in the last two years. Thus, Carlos Queiroz's team will try to surprise and obtain a positive result in the premiere of their group. In the competitive matters, experienced striker Azmoun trained.

England: 4-2-3-1: Pickford-Tripier, Stones, Maguire, Shaw-Bellingham, Rice-Mount, Foden, Sterling-Kane

Iran: 4-3-3: Beyranvad-Moharami, Khalilzadeh, Hosseini, Hadjisafi-Nourolahi, Ezzatolahi, Amiri-Jahanbahs, Taremi, Azmoun

SENEGAL-NETHERLANDS, first group, stadium: "Al Touma", 18:00, RICH

Senegal: Without Mane for a positive result

After Ecuador's win against Qatar, Senegal will be looking to get a positive result as a point at the end could be decisive. However, Senegal will be missing Sadio Mane who is the team's best player and it remains to be seen how much this will affect the team during the tournament.

Netherlands: He wants to prove that he is the favorite

The Netherlands wants to continue from where it left off in the qualifiers. Louis van Gaal's side are the favorites going into the match and want to prove it on the pitch and extend their unbeaten streak which currently stands at 15 matches. Memphis Depay has been sidelined for two months with a muscle injury and it remains to be seen how he will be doing.

Senegal: 4-3-3: Mendi-Chambali, Diallo, Coulibaly, Ballo-Wueye, Kouyate, Mendi-Diyata, Dia, Sarr

Netherlands: 3-4-1-2: Noppert-Timber, Van Dijk, De Ligt-Dumfries, De Roon, De Jong, Ake-Gakpo-Berwein, Janssen

USA-WALES, Second Group, Stadium: "Ahman Bin Ali", 21:00, RICH

USA: He wants the victory

The USA want to prove that they will be one of the two teams that will qualify from the group. However, against Wales, perhaps one of the two positions will be decided to a large extent from the first match if it is assumed that England will take the other. In the last 30 games the USA has just four losses and has a quality enough roster to achieve their goal.

Wales: With Bale in charge

With Bale outstanding, Wales are competing in a World Cup final for only the second time in their history. The Welsh want to get a positive result from the USA in order to claim their chances. Gareth Bale has been offloading in the past few days but is not in danger of missing the big date.

USA: 4-3-3: Turner-Yedlin, Zimmerman, Long, Dest-Acosta, Adams, McKeney-Reina, Pulisic, Aaronson

Wales: 3-4-3: Hennessey-Gander, Davies, Rawdon-Roberts, Morel, Ramsey, Williams-Johnson, Bale, James
