Spectators, matches, attendance records

The World Cup from the first day of its holding gathered the interest of the sports fan world. Almost a century later, the results prove that the World Cup is one of the most important sports events in the history of sports! The average attendance for a match is 45,036 fans, while the record attendance was held in the 1950 final at the Maracana in Brazil, where the match between Brazil and Uruguay was attended by 173,850 spectators.

Four are the footballers in the history of the World Cup with the most appearances. Specifically, Miroslav Klose with Germany (2002-2014), Antonio Carbajal with Mexico (1950-1966), Rafa Marquez again with Mexico (2002-2018) and Lothar Mathews with Germany (1998-2006) have competed in five World Cup finals.
