UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PRELIMINARY PHASE ANALYSIS

The Champions League enters the final stretch with the eight "fighters" ready to claim their chances of winning the trophy. Real Madrid-Chelsea, Benfica-Inter, Manchester City-Bayern, Milan-Napoli are the quarter-final pairings, while according to the crossovers, the one semi-final pairing will be in the semifinals will be the winners of Milan/Napoli-Benfica/Inter and the other semi-final pair will be the winners of Real Madrid / Chelsea and Manchester City / Bayern Munich aiming for the two tickets that will lead to the final of the competition.

Real Madrid-Chelsea

Real Madrid and Chelsea compete with the Merenches wanting to qualify for the semi-final of the institution and to keep their "sceptres" in the end. The Spaniards are the favorite of the pair as in recent years they show that they know how to get the victories and the qualifications in the knockout phase. In the league, Real Madrid has fallen far behind Barcelona, so they have until the end of the year to win the Spanish Cup and the Champions League.

On the other hand, Chelsea have their backs against the wall in this year's league and are in danger of being out of Europe in the new season. The 11th place in the league is typical to capture its image this season and the constant transitions. Frankie Lampard is in London as Chelsea manager now and wants to help his new team return to positive performances and results, but the obstacle of Real Madrid is quite difficult

Manchester City - Bayern Munich

Manchester City wants to win this year's Champions League, but the draw did not favor Pep Guardiola's team, as in order to do so, they must overcome the obstacle of Bayern Munich. The "Citizens" are in excellent form as they count eight consecutive victories in all matches and look ready to get into excellent condition in the final stretch of the season.

The Bavarians with the arrival of Thomas Tuchel on their bench want to find stability and show a consistently good image at the end of the season. In the league they are in first place after the victory over Borussia Dortmund while in the Champions League they count eight consecutive wins in this year's Champions League and they want to continue in this pattern to reach their goal of winning the Champions League.

Milan-Napoli

The Italian derby is also being carried over to the Champions League, with the Milanese wanting to make a big run, something they have been missing in recent years. Milan are just one point above Inter in the league and have a narrow lead to enter the Champions League next season. This season, Milan was in the knockout stages of the Champions League and eliminated Tottenham in the round of 16.

The pleasant surprise of this season, not only in Italy but also in Europe, belongs to Napoli. The Neapolitans are a "breath" away from winning the championship, as they are 16 points ahead of Lazio, while in the Champions League this season they have seven wins and just one loss, showing that they can reach the final of the competition.

Benfica-Inter

The Portuguese were lucky in the Champions League draw as they avoided the competition's favourites. The "eagles" will try to get the qualification against Inter, recently they have been in good form although they were defeated by Porto in the Portuguese derby, but they are seven points ahead of the league. As for this year's Champions League, Benfica is unbeaten and has six wins and two draws.

Inter will claim their chances, however, they have not been in good shape lately. Their last win was on March 5 against Lecce and Italy is in danger of missing out on the Champions League for the coming season. In this year's Champions League, Inter have four wins, two draws and two defeats and in the round of 16 they eliminated another Portuguese team with Porto being eliminated with an aggregate score of 1-0.
